ABOUT PIGGY PLANTS • FOUNDER STORY

IT STARTED WITH A QUESTION.

“Why should an empty balcony stay empty?”

The personal journey behind Piggy Plants — from noticing empty urban balconies to greening Indian homes, one living sanctuary at a time.

Original founder observation across Indian metropolitan cities

The Origin

I saw concrete. I wondered why we couldn't build sanctuaries.

“I kept noticing the same picture across India's growing cities — apartment after apartment, balcony after balcony, surrounded by concrete, traffic, and pollution, while so many small spaces remained empty.”

And I kept wondering… “Why couldn't those empty spaces become living sanctuaries?”

I shared the thought with my friends. We discussed it, questioned it, shaped it — and slowly, an idea took form.

That idea became Piggy Plants. Not simply to place plants inside homes, but to make urban spaces greener, more welcoming, and more alive.

Starting with one balcony, one home, and one plant at a time.

“Every empty balcony is a small opportunity to bring life back into the city. I didn't want to simply sell plants — I wanted to make urban homes feel alive again.”

The Journey

How an Observation Became a Movement

From a simple question during a city walk to thousands of living corners.

01I SAW IT

I SAW IT

Apartment after apartment. Bare concrete balconies. Heavy urban haze and fast-growing Indian cities with so little everyday greenery.

02I QUESTIONED IT

I QUESTIONED IT

“Why should an empty balcony stay empty? Why can’t these unused urban corners become living, breathing sanctuaries?”

03WE BUILT IT

WE BUILT IT

The idea was shared, debated, and shaped with close friends. We designed complete, self-sustaining green solutions suited for apartment living.

04PIGGY PLANTS

PIGGY PLANTS

A mission-driven startup born to bring life back into homes. Starting with one balcony, one apartment, and one plant at a time.

The Urban Reality

Concrete towers, traffic haze, and millions of bare balconies.

Modern apartments were multiplying, but nature was being left behind.

THE TURNING POINT

“Something was missing from our everyday homes.”

We spend more than 85% of our time indoors in closed rooms with circulating AC air. Roadside nurseries sell fragile plants with zero guidance, leading to frustration and withered leaves.

Piggy Plants was engineered to replace that guesswork with clean air science, customized apartment layout matching, and ongoing care so every plant survives and thrives.

From Empty Space to Living Sanctuary

What I saw vs. what we set out to build for Indian city dwellers.

What I Saw • Empty Space

The Vacant Urban Balcony

Underutilized, dusty, and overlooked. Millions of balconies across Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi remain bare concrete while residents long for nature.

The Biophilic Home Sanctuary

Air-purifying palms, snake plants, monsteras, and warm seating that turn urban dwellings into restorative retreats for breathing and unwinding.

OUR BROADER MISSION

From one balcony to greener cities.

We believe small green spaces can become part of a much bigger change. Greener homes can contribute to greener cities — building a cleaner future one living corner at a time.
